Overview: The 2011 Jeep Wrangler is like a lumberjack - it’s at home in the woods, powerfully making its way through rough terrain, with the beefy construction to get the job done. The Wrangler excels at off-road pursuits. For 2011, Jeep has upgraded interior materials and offered more available features.
Jeep Wrangler Exterior: The Jeep Wrangler's appearance has remained largely unchanged since World War II. Aside from its classic boxy styling and removable doors, the Wrangler's other unique feature is its convertible top. All Wranglers come standard with a folding soft top. A Freedom Top three-piece modular hardtop is optional. For 2011, Sahara hardtop models have the top color matched to the body.
Jeep Wrangler Interior: The Wrangler's interior is rugged and durable. For 2011, Jeep has added more soft-touch materials, a new instrument cluster and more sound-deadening material to give the Wrangler a more comfortable feel. The Wrangler's front seats are comforgable, and on the plus side, Sahara and Rubicon models come with Stain Repel fabric which is stain and odor-resistant, antistatic, and easy to clean. For 2011, Jeep added high-tech interior features and a more premium feel to the Wrangler. Standard features now include a six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with auxiliary input jack. Optional features include a new navigation system, cruise control, heated seats, automatic temperature controls, steering wheel controls, a USB port, Bluetooth hands free phone and Bluetooth wireless streaming audio.
The Wrangler provides 17.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats for two-door models (61.2 cubic feet with the rear folded) and 46.4 cubic feet for four-door models.
Jeep Wrangler Performance: The 2011 Wrangler's off-road capabilities are superior to almost any other SUV. The two-door Wrangler comes with a 3.8-liter 202-horsepower V6 engine. Wrangler Unlimited models get the same V6, but with slightly more power. For maximum all-terrain performance, the Wrangler offers an 8.8-inch ground clearance, while Rubicon and Sahara models have clearances of 10.2 and 10.3 inches, respectively. Rubicon Unlimited models also feature a unique electronic sway bar disconnect feature, which allows the front and rear wheels to move independently of one another -- making for an even easier climb over obstacles.
Jeep Wrangler Safety: The government hasn’t crash-tested the 2011 Wrangler yet, but it gave the very-similar 2010 two-door and Unlimited Wranglers top scores of five stars for driver and passenger protection in frontal crash tests. Side-impact air bags are optional in the Jeep Wrangler. Supplemental front seat-mounted air bags are available as an option on the Sahara and Rubicon. Standard safety features on all models include anti-lock brakes, advanced multistage front air bags, Electronic Roll Mitigation, an Electronic Stability Program and Traction Control.
